We continued on our journey, this time onward to our last destinations of this trip, Dallas and Fort Worth. We left Austin late on Thursday morning, and slowly made our way up north.
เราออกเดินทางจาก Austin วันพฤหัสตอนสายๆ เพื่อไปกันต่อยังจุดหมายปลายทางสุดท้ายของทริปนี้ นั่นก็คือเมือง Dallas และ Fort Worth
Our first stop along the way was located in Jarrell. This old Magnolia Gas Station was built in the 1940s and obviously had not been in business for quite some time, but it was restored nicely to demonstrate what it used to look like in the old days.
ก่อนอื่นไปแวะที่เมือง Jarrell ซึ่งเค้ามีปั๊มน้ำมันเก่าแก่ยี่ห้อ Magnolia ที่สร้างขึ้นเมื่อ 70 กว่าปีก่อน และดูเหมือนว่าจะปิดให้บริการไปนานมากแล้ว แต่ก็ได้รับการบูรณะมาให้ดูกันว่าปั๊มน้ำมันสมัยนั้นหน้าตาเป็นยังไง
From there, we headed on for another stop in Waco, famous from the HGTV Show ‘Fixer Upper’ with Chip & Joanna Gaines. No trip to Waco would be complete without a stop to their silos at Magnolia Market so my dearest husband had to begrudgingly allow it 😂. We spent about 10 minutes there snapping these pictures, just to show that we were actually there 😆!
จากนั้นเราไปต่อกันที่เมือง Waco เมืองนี้ดังมาจากรายการทีวีช่อง HGTV ของคุณพิธีกรคู่สามีภรรยา Chip และ Joanna Gaines ที่มีชื่อว่า ‘Fixer Upper’ เค้าว่าถ้ามาเมืองนี้ต้องไปแวะที่ Magnolia Market ซึ่งเป็นร้านขายของที่โชว์จากในรายการ คุณสามีอุตส่าห์ยอมพาไปด้วยความจำใจ 😂 ไปแวะอยู่ประมาณไม่ถึงสิบนาทีเพื่อถ่ายรูปไว้เป็นหลักฐานว่ามาแล้วจริงๆ 😆
Another popular stop in Waco is the Dr Pepper Museum, just around the corner from Magnolia Market. This location used to be their former bottling plant, built in 1906. I actually did not realize that Dr Pepper is the oldest soft drink in the world, predating Coca Cola by a whole whopping year! While they do have an interesting collection, we do not feel the $10 suggested admission price was quite justified for the amount of stuff they have for us to see in there… 🙄
สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวขึ้นชื่ออีกที่ของเมือง Waco ก็คือพิพิธภัณฑ์ Dr Pepper ซึ่งอยู่ถัดไปจาก Magnolia Market แค่นิดเดียว ที่นี่เคยใช้เป็นโรงงานบรรจุขวดเก่าที่สร้างขึ้นเมื่อปี 1906 เพิ่งเคยรู้ว่าโซดายี่ห้อ Dr Pepper นี่จริงๆแล้วเป็นน้ำอัดลมยี่ห้อแรกของโลก เก่ากว่า Coca Cola ตั้งปีนึงเชียว ในพิพิธภัณฑ์ก็มีของน่าสนใจให้ดู แต่เดินๆแล้วรู้สึกว่าไม่ค่อยจะคุ้มค่าเข้าสิบเหรียญซักเท่าไหร่ 🙄
Our last stop was Joel’s favorite, at Waco Mammoth National Monument. This was where the bones of 24 Columbian Mammoths were discovered in 1978. Experts believe these giant creatures died in a flash flood more than 65,000 years ago! They had a painted picture of a mammoth on the wall to demonstrate their average size – making me look quite delightfully tiny right next to it, huh? 😉 Joel wanted me to add that, this, instead of the silos at Magnolia Market, should be considered Waco’s top spot to visit! 🤣
จุดแวะสุดท้ายเป็นที่ๆคุณสามี request มานั่นก็คือ Waco Mammoth National Monument ซึ่งเป็นที่ๆเค้าขุดเจอซากกระดูกของช้างแมมมอธพันธุ์โคลัมเบียจำนวน 24 ตัวเมื่อปี 1978 ผู้เชี่ยวชาญระบุว่าช้างฝูงนี่น่าจะเสียชีวิตจากเหตุการณ์น้ำท่วมฉับพลันเมื่อ 65,000 ปีก่อน บนผนังตรงประตูทางเข้ามีภาพวาดช้างแมมมอธเอาไว้ให้ดูว่าของจริงตัวใหญ่แค่ไหน เทียบกันแล้วเราดูตัวเล็กไปถนัดตา 😉 คุณสามีฝากบอกมาว่าใครมาเมืองนี้ให้มาเที่ยวที่นี่ อย่าไป Magnolia Market กันเลย 🤣
