We first heard about the Pickle Festival shortly after we moved back here to NC in 2013, and have been wanting to go check it out for years. But something always came up… 🙄 One year we were determined to make it there, but woke up to a torrential rain that was forecasted to last the entire day! 😆 Needless to say, we never made it there… This year, we finally made it happen! 🥳
ตอนย้ายกลับมาที่รัฐนี้ใหม่ๆตั้งแต่เมื่อปี 2013 ประมาณช่วงต้นปีจะเห็นเค้าโฆษณางานเทศกาลแตงกวาดอง เห็นทีไรก็ว่าเออปีนี้จะลองไปกัน แต่ทำไปทำมาก็ไม่เคยได้ไปซักปี 🙄 มีปีนึงเตรียมจะไปกัน พอตื่นมาปรากฎว่าเจอฝนตกกระหน่ำ 😆 สุดท้ายตกลงก็ไม่ได้ไปอีก มาปีนี้เองถึงได้ฤกษ์งามยามดีดั้นด้นกันไปถึงจนได้ 🥳
We met up with Brad & his family there on a bright April Saturday morning in Mount Olive, NC. The first thing we noticed, walking into the festival, was these rows of brightly colored old cars, all in perfect condition! I would learn later, after a few festival trips under our belt, that these festivals are actually common showcases for vintage cars (& motorcycles). 😉
เราตื่นตั้งแต่เช้าตรู่วันเสาร์ปลายเดือนเมษา ขับรถจากบ้านไปเจอกับคุณแบรดและครอบครัวที่เมือง Mount Olive ซึ่งเป็นสถานที่ตั้งของโรงงานผลิตแตงกวาดองยี่ห้อดังของรัฐนี้ เดินเข้าไปในงานปุ๊บ อย่างแรกที่เห็นก่อนเลยก็คือรถ (ทั้งรถยนต์และรถมอเตอร์ไซค์) รุ่นเก๋าหลากสีหลายยี่ห้อ จอดกันเรียงรายเป็นแถวดูละลานตา เพราะงานนี้เป็นเทศกาลแรกที่มาก็เลยตื่นเต้น ถ่ายรูปมาเยอะแยะ แต่หลังจากนี้พอไปหลายๆเทศกาลเข้าเริ่มจะจับเค้าได้ว่าคนแถวนี้เค้านิยมเอารถเก่ามาอวดตามงานกันแบบนี้นี่เอง 😉

They also have a pickling demonstration for kids. 😇

All in all, we had a great time, and were able to check off a bucket list item from our NC to-do list! 🥳
สรุปว่าสนุกสนานกันไปวันนั้น แถมยังได้เช็คกิจกรรมจากรายการสิ่งๆต่างที่อยากทำในรัฐนี้เสร็จไปอีกหนึ่ง 🥳
