We made good on our promise and went back to Lake Crabtree again this weekend to finish the entire loop. 😇
วันเสาร์นี้เรากลับไปเยือน Lake Crabtree กันอีกครั้งตามที่สัญญาไว้เพื่อไปเดินให้ครบรอบสมความตั้งใจ 😇
The sky looked a bit ominous when we got there, and it actually started drizzling right when we pulled into the lot. But we decided to go ahead and start off despite the light sprinkle 😅, which fortunately didn’t last long. And the overcast weather provided a welcomed shade during the first part of the trail, which went through the beautiful yellow wildflower field.
ไปถึงที่จอดรถปรากฎว่าฟ้าอึมครึมมาก ยังไม่ทันลงจากรถฝนก็ลงเม็ดซะแล้ว 😅 แต่ดูทีท่าแล้วเหมือนจะแค่เปาะแปะไม่น่าจะตกแรงเลยตัดสินใจออกเดินทาง โชคดีพอเริ่มเดินฝนก็หยุดพอดี แถมฟ้าครึ้มๆยังช่วยบังแดดให้ตอนช่วงแรกๆที่เป็นทุ่งดอกไม้โล่งๆ
This time we headed counterclockwise from the main parking lot. It was a good thing we did, because the pretty yellow flowers that were in their prime just the week before appeared to be mostly on their last legs! 😅
คราวนี้เราเดินทวนเข็มนาฬิกาวนไปอีกทางจากลานจอดรถ ไปเห็นดอกไม้สีเหลืองสดใสจากคราวก่อนใกล้ๆแล้วก็ดีใจที่รีบมา เพราะดูจากสภาพแล้วคงบานอยู่ให้เห็นอีกไม่นาน 😅
But we still managed to find a few pretty spots. 🥰
แต่ก็ยังอุตส่าห์หามุมสวยๆถ่ายรูปได้อยู่บ้าง 🥰
The clearing soon gave way to a bit of wooded area, clearly marked with similar blue blazes as seen on the other side.
เดินผ่านทุ่งดอกไม้ไปจนสุดก็จะเปลี่ยนบรรยากาศไปเป็นป่าดงพงไพร ซึ่งมีหมุดปักบอกทางสีฟ้าเช่นเดียวกับอีกฝั่ง
Then the trail dumped us out right next to Aviation Parkway, right along one side of the lake.
จากนั้นทางจึงตัดคู่ไปกับถนน Aviation Parkway ซึ่งอยู่ทางฝั่งขวา ส่วนทางซ้ายเป็นทะเลสาบ
Before dipping right back into the woods again. Some of the blazes in this part are chipped blue paint instead of the metal plaques we had been seeing so far.
แล้วจึงเลี้ยววกกลับเข้าป่ากันอีกครั้ง หมุดปักบอกทางช่วงนี้บางอันเป็นสีพ่นถลอกๆ ไม่ใช่หมุดเหล็กเหมือนช่วงก่อนๆ
Only one mile in and it already felt like we might be half way along…as it looked like we were directly across from the boat dock, which was near where we started off. But we discovered soon after that the lake actually curves to the right, making it quite longer than what it appeared to be. 😅
เดินมาได้แค่ไมล์กว่าๆก็ดูเหมือนกับว่าจะมาได้ครึ่งทางแล้ว เพราะมองข้ามทะเลสาบไปเห็นท่าเรือที่อยู่ใกล้กับที่จอดรถอยู่ฝั่งตรงข้ามพอดี แต่พอเดินเลยไปอีกหน่อยถึงได้เห็นว่าทะเลสาบมีการเลี้ยวไปทางขวาอีกตั้งไกล 😅
One of the upsides of this part of the trail is that bicycles are not allowed! 😆
ทางช่วงนี้มีดีตรงที่ว่าห้ามจักรยานเข้ามาวิ่ง 😆 เลยไม่ต้องคอยกระโดดหลบเหมือนคราวก่อน
And there was a variety of pretty wildflowers. 😍
ยังคงมีดอกไม้ป่าบานสะพรั่งให้ชมตามทาง 😍
The trail continued on to merge with another greenway. At this point, about a third of the way in, it started to get a bit confusing since we couldn’t really tell if we were actually still on the Lake Trail. Just as we were about to whip out the phone to check on the map, we spotted this tiny little sign to our left, assuring us that we were indeed still on the right path. 😊
ถึงตอนนี้ทางตัดไปรวมกับทางเดินหลักอีกเส้น ประมาณดูแล้วน่าจะมาได้เกือบครึ่งทาง ระหว่างที่กำลังสับสนไม่แน่ใจเท่าไหร่ว่ามากันถูกทางรึเปล่า กำลังจะล้วงกระเป๋าเอาแผนที่มาเปิดดู เพราะช่วงนี้ไม่มีป้ายบอกมาซักพักใหญ่แล้ว ก็เผอิญตาดีไปเห็นป้ายเล็กๆทางซ้ายมืออันนี้เข้าพอดี เลยอุ่นใจว่ามาถูกทางแน่นอน 😊

ใบไม้เริ่มจะเปลี่ยนสีกันแล้ว เป็นสัญญาณว่าฤดูใบไม้ผลิกำลังจะมาเยือน
About two thirds of the way in, the trail hugged right back along the edge of the lake. This part was one of the prettiest parts of it all. I don’t think it was a coincidence that this was the busiest part on the entire stretch! 😆
เดินมาซักครึ่งค่อนทางถึงได้มีทะเลสาบโผล่กลับมาให้ดูอีกครั้ง ถ้าถามเรา เราว่าช่วงนี้เป็นช่วงที่วิวสวยที่สุดตลอดทั้งทางที่เดินกันมา จึงไม่น่าแปลกใจที่คนดูจะพลุกพล่านกว่าช่วงอื่นๆ 😆
Soon enough, we spotted the dam where we stopped and turned back the last time.
เดินไปอีกแป๊บก็ไปเจอะเจ้าเขื่อนตรงที่เราเลี้ยวกลับเมื่อคราวก่อน
The rest of the way back was quite easy, since we already knew what we were doing.
จากจุดนี้เดินกลับไปที่ลานจอดรถได้อย่างสบายบรื๋อ เพราะเพิ่งจะเดินกันไปเมื่ออาทิตย์ก่อน
When I first saw this tree 🤔, I was thinking to myself, ‘What kind of magic trickery is this? How in the world is this tree hovering in the air like that!?’ 🤯 And then we rounded the corner, and I got my answer. 😆
ตอนเห็นต้นไม้ต้นนี้แวบแรกยังงง 🤔 อยู่ว่ามันตั้งอยู่ลอยๆอย่างงี้ได้ยังไงหว่า 🤯 พอเดินเลยมาหน่อยค่อยถึงบางอ้อว่าต้นมันมีการเลี้ยวมาอย่างนี้นี่เอง 😆

It was not even 6 pm by the time we made it back, but the sky looked almost like the sun was already setting! 🙄 (It wasn’t – sunset here is usually around 7pm at this time of the year) I’m certainly not going to complain about the pretty lighting for my pictures. 😛
กลับมาถึงรถยังไม่ทัน 6 โมงเย็นดี แต่ดูเหมือนใกล้พระอาทิตย์จะตกแล้ว 🙄 (ช่วงนี้จริงๆแล้วพระอาทิตย์จะต้องตกประมาณทุ่มนึง) แต่ก็ดีเหมือนกันแสงถ่ายรูปออกมากำลังสวยเชียว 😛
We clocked in at 5.67 miles, which took us just over two hours. We were really proud of ourselves, considering how long it had been since we hiked this far, and how out of shape we both were. 😊
วันนั้นเดินกันไป 5.67 ไมล์ หรือประมาณ 9 กิโลหน่อยๆ ใช้เวลาสองชั่วโมงนิดๆ ซึ่งเป็นที่น่าภาคภูมิใจมาก เพราะไม่ได้เดินป่ากันไกลขนาดนี้มานานมากแล้ว 😊
